John Muchiri has told off the Union of Kenya Civil Servants’ national treasurer Kinyua Mugo for practising "immature and deceitful politics".

He said Mugo, who will vie against him, tells lies about him and other opponents. Muchiri cited allegations that he stole millions from the Gakundu Coffee Society.

He said he left the society in a "very sound financial status" and was one of the best in Embu county and the country.

Muchiri said if his successors messed up society, he should not be blamed.

He urged Mugo to produce evidence to show he stole money.
