The Kirinyaga Central MP seat has attracted a huge number of aspirants with the figure rising to 17.

A new entrant into the race Lawrence Kamanda is seeking a Jubilee Party ticket.

The trained accountant last week led a mega voter registration mobilisation campaign.

Yesterday he donated iron sheets to 59 homes.

The aspirant is also paying school fees for 37 students in secondary schools and colleges.

He urged residents to reelect President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kamanda will battle it out for the JP ticket with 16 other candidates, including John Kabui, who ran in the last election but lost.

Kamanda told the Star he will support the candidate who wins the JP ticket.
