Parents and pupils of Kagaa primary school demonstrate along Loliondo Kagaa road demanding the removal of the school headteacher.

Parents stormed Kagaa Primary School in Ol Kalou on Monday and demanded that the headteacher resign for alleged mismanagement.

The parents said headteacher Joseph Kimari has been cutting trees in the school compound for sale and allegedly paying allowances to the board.

They also accused him of leasing out school property to farmers, leaving pupils with a small playing field.

A parent said one lesee has built a permanent structure on the school compound.

He said Kimari stole roofing sheets meant for the school. “When we question his activities, he sends our children home,” the parent said.

Another parent said Kimari single-handedly appoints members of the board. “He appoints his fellow thieves,” he said. Kimari declined to comment on the matter.
