Hamisi MP Charles Gimose has asked Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi to go back home and mobilise voters to register.

He said other leaders are pushing for registration in their strongholds and Mudavadi should do the same.

The Hamisi MP said, “President Uhuru Kenyatta has been in Central mobilising people to register as voters. The DP has already visited the Rift Valley on the same, and even the Cord leader has been in Nyanza.”

Gimose on Saturday said if Luhyas want to have a good deal in NASA, they need to have the numbers in terms of votes.

“In Central, you cannot even buy meat if you are not registered as a voter. That is the spirit that we need to borrow,” he said.

Gimose said laxity in the Mulembe nation should stop if Luhyas want to take over the country’s leadership.

He denied he is a member of the Jubilee Party. Last month, during Mudavadi’s installation as the Luhya spokesperson, Gimose was forced to cut short his speech after a crowd chanting ‘traitor, traitor’ interrupted him. He said he is in NASA.

Vihiga Governor Moses Akaranga said leaders should play their part in mobilising voter registration.

Akaranga said, “My brother Gimose, let us join hands and ensure we register as many voters as we can, then other leaders will join us along the way.”

The two attended the funeral of freedom fighter Joseph Inima in Gisambai village.
