A 72-year old former British army man was found dead on Sunday at the home of a widow he reportedly inherited in

Rangwe constituency, Homa Bay.

Police officers

found James Wilfred lying naked on Christine Achieng's

bed.

They were alerted

by

Kabuor villagers who said the couple's home was deserted.

“The deceased relieved himself in his toilet and sitting room before he died,” said Homa Bay county police commander John Omusanga.

Omusanga said unknown drugs were found near the man.

“We’ve taken samples for examination to ascertain the cause of death.

We also want to find out if he died as a result of an overdose,” he said.

The

deceased's passport, which was found in the house, indicated he once served as a

military officer in the British Army.

Omusanga said police had consulted the Foreign Affairs ministry over the incident.

He said the Briton's wife's identification documents showed she once stayed in Islewoth GBR in Canada.

The body was taken to Homa Bay County Referral Hospital mortuary and the woman to a hospital in Kisumu county.
