Four people died on Friday afternoon when a bus they were travelling in was involved in an accident at Milalani area on the LungaLunga- Likoni highway.

The Ng'ombeni secondary school bus is said to have been taking 47 passengers to a wedding ceremony in LungaLunga.

Mwambweni deputy county commissioner Elvis Korir said the driver lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the accident.

"The vehicle rolled several times after the driver lost control. It is also suspected that the bus was overloaded," he said.

Bodies of the deceased were taken to Msambweni referral hospital mortuary, while the survivors were taken to the referral hospital for treatment.

Korir said they are investigating the incident and asked road users to be careful and avoid reckless driving.
