A KDF officer was hacked to death by unknown people at his Gilgil house

on Thursday night.

The suspected thugs attacked the officer at the home situated near Wellspring schools and later dragged his body to a nearby road.

The officer, in his late 30s, lived alone at the time of the incident.

Police moved the body to Gilgil mortuary as investigations commenced.

No arrests have been made so far.

Joel Kimani, a witness, said the body, which had deep cuts was discovered by the public.

"The officer had been living in the house for some years. He was a quiet person. The heinous murder has left us in fear," Kimani said.

A senior police officer, who declined to be named, said they are working with their KDF counterparts to probe the killing.

"The body had been taken to the Gilgil mortuary and the family informed," the officer said.

"Some household goods were stolen during the incident and we are yet to identify the motive behind this murder," said the officer.
