ODM leaders from Busia county have criticised youths who stoned Cord leader Raila Odinga’s car in Mumias town on Friday last week.

Speaking to the Star on the phone on Wednesday, county vice chairman Patrick Obongoya said the attack was politically instigated.

He accused a local politician of paying the youths to bar Raila and Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya from going on with their rally.

The youths accused the leaders of neglecting the victims of police brutality during a search for seven guns stolen from the Booker police post.

But Obongoya said Raila planned to visit and console the victims.

He questioned why police did not stop Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali from pushing Oparanya.
