AfDB funds Sh7bn Yatta Dam

The African Development Bank is funding

the construction of the Yatta Dam

across the Thika River at an estimated

cost of Sh7 billion.

The project is overseen by the Tanathi

Water Services Board.

It will provide

water to Yatta in Machakos county, Thika

in Kiambu county and Murang’a county.

Tanathi chief manager for strategic

management Daudi Kitonga

on Tuesday said Sh700 million has been

used to compensate families whose land

will be used for the project.
