Former environment assistant minister Jayne Kihara has ditched Narc Kenya for Jubilee Party.

Kihara said that she quit the party after realising it was not popular.

"I am no longer in Narc Kenya. So those going around with rumors that am in the party should get their facts right. I left the party long time ago after realising it was unpopular," she said.

The former Naivasha MP said at Gilgil town on Tuesday that she had suffered a lot by supporting Narc Kenya.

"The experience has made me support the Jubilee party and will run for Naivasha MP in 2017," Kihara said.

At the same time, Kihara called on women to rise to the occasion and vie for elective posts.

"I want to appeal to my fellow women to wake up and go for elective seats. Let us not just wait for nominations as this portrays us as being inferior," she said.

Further, Kihara said that it was only by doing so that the two third gender principle can be realised.
