A bishop has been arraigned for allegedly stealing a car belonging to Mandera North MP Adan Mohamed.

James Karimi is said to have committed the offence on August 20 in the Nairobi central business district.

The prosecution said Karimi stole the green Range Rover valued at Sh1.8 million.

The bishop is facing two other counts of issuing bad cheques to the MP knowing his account had insufficient funds.

He denied the charges before chief magistrate Daniel Ogemba and was released on Sh100,00 cash bail.
