A face-off looms in the Elgeyo Marakwet county assembly as MCAs demand cancellation of fresh recruitment of employees.
On Thursday last week, MCAs, led by Kapyego’s Benson Kiptire, accused speaker Albert Kochei of spearheading fresh recruitment against recommendations to freeze hiring to lower the wage bill.
Kiptire said they agreed with the speaker in a Kamukunji to stop further recruitment. Interviews for recently advertised jobs were ongoing as the MCAs addressed the press on Friday.
