Gethi to be probed in camera on NYS fraud after death threats - PAC

NYS scandal suspect Ben Gethi, who reported receiving death threats, will be questioned in private to enhance his safety, the PAC has said.

The

Public Accounts Committee said in a

statement

on Tuesday

that his grilling will

be closed to the media.

He is being questioned over his involved in the Sh791 million scam in which former officials including Anne Waiguru (Devolution CS) and Adan Harakhe (NYS deputy director general) have been implicated.

Gethi filed the complaint at

Parklands police station on Monday morning, OB 2/10/10/2016, saying he received the threats at the weekend.

He said he was warned that he was the target for elimination because of the confidential information he had on NYS scandal.

Gethi said in his statement

that a man on a motorcycle handed a note with the threats to his driver.

He said they concerned statements he made when he appeared before the Public Accounts Committee for grilling on the scam.

Gethi told the PAC last Tuesday that he had details of

communication between investigators and Waiguru that implicated them in tampering with investigations.

The businessman claimed documents produced by Harakhe were changed to conceal the truth. He

dismissed claims by the former official that he stopped funds to NYS in the IFMIS system.
