A suspect described by police as a notorious robber on Wednesday night was gunned down at Musikoma, Bungoma town. A rifle was recovered. Naftali Mung’eri was shot by Flying Squad officers who had been on his trail for four months.
“We thank God his 40 days came: he has been giving residents sleepless nights,” Bungoma South OCPD David Kirui said.
Mung’eri was cornered near Nabongo Teachers’ College. Kirui said Mung’eri was involved in kidnappings and major robberies. He thanked the public for giving information on Mung’eri’s whereabouts and called for more cooperation to reduce crime.
