A Nairobi resident on Friday pleaded guilty to throwing a sack of rotten fruits on the road as Governor Evans Kidero tried to address Wakulima market traders.

Cyrus Githiga was charged with disposing waste "in a manner likely to cause pollution to the environment".

The incident is said to have taken place on September 26.

Two people who allegedly committed the offence with him failed to appear in court to take plea. The court issued an arrest warrant for the co-accused, Job Mulima and Ann Wangari.
