Former President Mwai Kibaki attended a mass at the Consolata Shrine on Sunday days after he was discharged from hospital.

Hospital in South Africa some weeks ago after doctors said he had recovered.

The retired president was spotted at the church's premises in Westlands, Nairobi accompanied by four aides.

Kibaki greeted the faithful as he entered his car when the mass had ended.

This is the first time Kibaki is making a public appearance after falling ill and being flown out of the country.

Kibaki was for specialised treatment after being hospitalised

at Karen hospital.

A close family member said then that Kibaki suffered a stroke at his home in Muthaiga‚ Nairobi.
