Former Kenya Ports Authority chairman Danson Mungatana has declared his interest in the Tana River governor’s seat. He said he will run on the Jubilee Party ticket.

Mungatana lost the seat to Hussein Dado in 2013.

Mungatana said the defection of six ODM legislators - including the Kwale governor - to JP has weakened the opposition at the Coast.

“The region requires organised politics and a kingpin ahead of the next polls,” he said.
