Information CS Joe Mucheru,
PS Sammy Itemere and other officials from the ministry visited Radio Africa Group at
Lion Place in Westlands, Nairobi, on Wednesday.
They were welcomed shortly after 11am by Star managing editor Charles Kerich.
Mucheru spoke of the ministry's plan to empower Kenyans to embrace digital technology during their two-hour meeting.
The Cabinet Secretary noted ICT has become key to many functions across the world.
"There are currently 500 management trainees in the Presidential Digital Talent
Programme," he said.
"They are being equipped with ICT skills so that when they are done with the programme, they can go out to the ministries and counties and help digitise them."
Mucheru also encouraged the youth to look for work opportunities outside the formal sector, emphasising that the digital platform has the potential to generate Sh92 billion in revenue if fully utilised.
