The Media Council Kenya has asked media houses to let go off "politicians in newsrooms" ahead of the 2017 general elections.

The council's on Wednesday asked those who have declared affiliations to political parties or indicated their intentions to vie for elective positions in the coming elections do so outside newsrooms.
