Muslim leaders in Mombasa have urged Kenyans to embrace peace, love and tranquility as some virtues that will propel the country to greater heights.

The leaders, who thronged various places to celebrate Eid-Ul-Adha, said that Muslims faithful should be Allah fearing, should practice Islam all times and not only during special celebrations.

Mombasa governor, Lamu senator Abu Chiaba ,Tanzanian artiste Ali Kiba joined hundreds of faithful at Masjid Ummu Kulthum in Kizingo for the clebrations.

Mvita MP Abudhulswamad Nassir, senator Hassan Omar, Chief Kadhi Ahmed Muhdhar were at Ronald Ngala grounds.

Joho said that Muslims should always be holy and practice peace regardless of Islamic celebrations.

"We should be holy and practice peace everyday, not during crucial Islamic celebrations only. Peace, love, tranquility are virtues of good Islam," he said.

The governor, together with his brother Abu Joho and other leaders, joined other hundreds of Muslims faithful at their late mother's home in Kizingo.

The late Kulthum died in early

October 2010

and a state-of-the-art Mosque Masjid Ummu-Kulthum in Kizingo with a playing field was built in her memory.

The family says the site will be used to continue their late mother's works. The family says she was loved by many for her acts of humanity and promoting the welfare of the poor.

Joho has many times, especially during , referred to his late mother was a source of inspiration to the whole family.

"My late mother has been an inspiration to the whole family," he said.
