A former Narok Senate aspirant has said that he will proceed with the fundraiser that the late William ole Ntimama was scheduled to attend before his on September 1.

Andrew Sunkuli said that he will go on with the plans for the harambee to aid a women group at Olesimu area that was earlier planned for September 2.

Ntimama and Sunkuli were to attend the function but the former heritage minister unfortunately died in his sleep at his Melili home on eve of set date.

Sunkuli said Ntimama's vision for the women has to continue despite his demise.

He said the fundraiser will be held once the Maasai community will have recovered fully from mourning the late veteran politician.

"He was very clear about it. He said that as a father of women, he would like to see women prosper. The plan was for us to raise money and encourage the women to invest in businesses that would benefit their lives and that of their children," said Sunkuli.

He added that the former cabinet minister had meticulously planned the fundraiser and that they met many times in a week in preparation for the event.

"Unfortunately, it was God's will he should go and rest just on the eve of the activity," said Sunkuli.

At the same time, Sunkuli has asked the Narok county government to consider naming one of the major roads in the town after the late Ntimama.

"Ntimama was a great warrior who at all times stood for the rights of his people. We should honour him by naming a road after him," said Sunkuli.

He also said the museum in Narok should allocate a section in memory of the late former minister because he stood for culture and heritage.
