Chuka Boys' High School parents stormed TSC offices in the area in a demonstration for principal Gitonga Kathuni's removal.

They waved placards in the protest that disrupted

operations at the offices, and demanded an address by TSC county

director Victoria Muoka.

The parents

accused Kathuni of

forcing students to repeat classes, illegally firing subordinates and failing to ensure the school performs well in KCSE.

“He hires and fires workers without clear reason. He has failed to improve performance... Most students' results have been cancelled. Last year the school had 6 Ys,” said Charles Gitonga.

The protesters further accused the principal of not listening to them.

“He is very arrogant. He does not talk to poor parents and abuses them,” claimed Mutembei Marathi.

Muoka said the claims will be investigated and appropriate measures taken.

“We will visit the school to get views from parents, subordinate staff and teachers,” he said.

Another group stormed the offices of the Teachers Service Commission last week, calling for Kathuni's termination or transfer.

The commission put his transfer to Nkubu High school, Meru county, on hold.

Muoka said the decision followed a demonstration against the move.

“We wanted to consult parents,” she said.
