The Legion Maria of African Church mission has rejected the move by two catholic sisters seeking to demolish and construct a new mausoleum for their messiah.
Led by the church’s pope Raphael Otieno, the group distanced itself from activities of the two catholic sisters whom they claimed were out to destroy the church.
Otieno said alleged that the two sisters have been agreed permission by government officials from the region to start the construction work.
He said they have received information that the deputy commissioner of Suna West in Migori County has already given a go ahead to the two sisters to begin the construction of Baba Messiah.
“The two women are reported to be working in conjunction with the local administration and recently it is reported that the deputy county commissioner gave them authority to begin construction work on our Baba messiah mausoleum, “he said.
Otieno said that it should be clearly understood that if anybody attempts to carry out such actions, he or she will face a lawsuit.
Speaking to the press on Monday, he accused the government official of aiding the two sisters in their quest to interfere with the church’s heritage adding that they have no authority to grant permission over any registered property of the church.
“The church is a registered entity and has certificate and bonified office bearers hence the commissioner has no authority to grant permission over any registered property of the church and for him to do so is strepass,”he stated.
He noted that the claims that the two have been sent through visions to construct the mausoleum is a massive lie that the church cannot accept.
”If at all they are true benefactors of the church who have been sent by Baaba messiah through visions, then why do they have a particular interest in Baba Messiah’s Mausoleum, “he question.
Otieno added that they have several church buildings under construction that they can channel the assistance.
He said however stressed that the church has not been defeated to construct the Mausoleum, but are still sorting out the issues of rebels occupying their headquarters, then construction will resume.
There has been reported cases of wrangles within the church which Otieno claimed are between rebels occupying the headquarters in Got Kalvari in Suna, Migori County.
He said Cardinal Ongombe is not the bonafide head of the church, neither is he one of the trustees of the church and has no authority to speak on their behalf in matters concerning Baba Messiah’s mausoleum.
