Those wishing to be the chairperson of Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission have until

September 28, 2016, to send their applications to Public Service Commission.

"PSC hereby invites applications from suitably qualified Kenyans for the position," the advertisement posted by the PSC on Wednesday read.

Those interested in the position should hold a degree from a recognised Kenyan university, have knowledge and experience of not less than 15 years.

Candidates

should attach copies of clearances from CID, Helb, KRA, EACC and Credit Reference Bureaus to the application.

The commission advertised the position a week after Philip Kinisu

tendered his resignation from the post to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kinisu said the issues bordering on investigations of a firm he is associated with have rendered his stay in office impractical.

He said that he took the decision to ensure that due attention is paid to the fight against corruption and to save the country of resources being spent in deliberations on the matter.

More on this:

Kinisu's family firm Esaki Ltd is said to have supplied goods worth Sh35m to NYS over the last three years.

In a petition, lawyer Albert Ondieki said the EACC boss's links to the firm had made his stay in office untenable.

The Parliamentary committee, chaired by Ainabkoi MP Samuel Chepkonga, was tasked on August 16 to confirm the veracity of the evidence cited by the petitioner.
