A warrant of arrest was issued against former journalist Moses Dola after he missed a court date. Dola is expected to defend himself against accusation of killing former NTV reporter Wambui Kabiru at their Umoja estate home on May 1, 2011.

He was expected to appear before High Court judge Roselyn Korir to pick a date when he will give his side of the story but he did not contact the court or show up. Yesterday’s warrant is the second one since the trial began. Another warrant was issued by Justice David Majanja in 2014 but was later lifted.

Dola is out on Sh500,000 bail. Kabiru’s body was discovered by relatives and neighbours tucked in their bed a few hours after Dola asked their househelp to take care of their the four-year-old son.

Dola has denied killing her. In May, Justice Korir said the prosecution has presented enough evidence against Dola and it is up to him to defend himself.
