Journalist Moses Dola slapped with arrest warrant in wife's murder case

A warrant was issued for the arrest of after he failed to appear in court on Tuesday.

Dola is facing murder charges over the death of his wife Wambui Kabiru in May 2011.

The case was to be mentioned for parties to pick hearing dates.

In criminal matters, accused persons must attend court proceedings during hearings and mentions.

High Court judge Roselyn Korir ruled in May that Dola had a case to answer. She said the prosecution showed there was for a full trial against him.

Dola, who was released on Sh500,000 cash bail, is expected to defend himself before the court gives its final verdict.

Kabiru, who worked for a local TV station was found dead by neighbours in the couple’s two-bedroom house in Umoja estate, Nairobi.

It was reported in May that she left her son a note urging him to be strong and advising him to be careful.

A crime scene officer told Korir that the note was part of the photographs he took as exhibits while inspecting the scene of crime.

Inspector Charles Omwanda told the court that Kabiru’s body was on the bed with foam oozing from her mouth and blood from her nose and right ear.

The family's house help testified in the case in February. She said

over marital problems, but that she did not think it was serious.
