ODM leader Raila Odinga has termed former Cabinet minister William ole Ntimama’s death a personal loss.

“I have lost a friend that I deeply respected. Kenya has lost a leader. Rest in peace, Mzee Ntimama,” Raila posted on his Twitter handle.

He visited the family’s Nairobi home. Kisumu Senator Anyang Nyong’o said Ntimama was the epitome of Kenyan nationalism with his uncompromising defence of the rights of ordinary Kenyans, especially the Maasai.

“Ntimama’s era has come to an end in Kenyan politics. In ODM, he was revered and never failed to speak his mind. He always hit the nail on the head with the comfort of his voluminous laughter,” he said.

Ntimama was a strong supporter of ODM for seven years before he ditched Raila Odinga ‘s party for President Uhuru Kenyatta’s TNA in 2014.
