National Assembly deputy speaker Joyce Laboso has said she will not back down in her bid to oust Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto.

In a TV interview on Wednesday morning, Laboso said she will seek to change the perception of council of governors as a "men's club".

"I believe that I can make a difference in Bomet County so nobody should be deceived that I am working so hard to be anybody’s deputy," she said.

The deputy speaker further called on women leaders to vie for the governor's seats in the 2017 polls.

"Women must ensure they vie for the top county jobs because we have women who are competent enough and and I hope will have several of us in the council of governors after the 2017 general elections," Laboso said.

Laboso declared her interest to vie for Bomet governor early in the year, a move that has been opposed by Knut secretary general Wilson Sossion.

Laboso further lauded Deputy President William Ruto statements saying Nairobi county will be headed by a Jubilee leader after 2017.

"There is nothing with Jubilee planning to have control of the city, so that they can deliver because

finances of this country are controlled in this city," she said.
