Maurice Ouma’s first ton of the season saw Swamibapa maintain their NPCA Super League leadership with a resounding 243-run win over Cutchi Leva at Nairobi Jaffrey’s on Sunday.

Swamibapa are now at the summit with 134 points, 15 ahead of second-placed Stray Lions, who recorded 139-run win over hosts Sikh Union. Third-placed Kanbis were also victorious with a 7-wickets win over hosts Ruaraka Sports Club.

Ouma’s 136 lifted Swamibapa to 370 for 8 before Jadavji Bhimji had a five-wickets haul against Cutchi Leva with 5 for 34 in five overs. After winning the toss, the home side lost last week’s centurion Nicholas Oluoch early on 13 and then Alex Obanda on 31. The fall of the two wickets, brought in a third wicket stand of 112 between Ouma and Rakesh Kahar (89).

The stand was broken by Yogesh Kabaria, who had Kahar caught after facing 48 balls. After making a century a week earlier, Emmanuel Bundi was promoted up to five and never disappointed, scoring 50 before being bowled by Mahendra Shiyani. Ouma later lost Nehemiah Odhiambo cheaply but Saumil Patel gave him a stand on his way to his century with a useful 30. Ouma faced 114 balls before falling to a catch of Rohit Jesani.
