Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi has been asked to join either or Cord coalition if he has to remain relevant in politics.

Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali said the 2017 general election will be a two-horse race between the ruling Jubilee coalition and the opposition Cord.

"For our brother Mudavadi to survive the political wave, he needs to be in Jubilee or Cord. But Jubilee is the best house for him," Washiali said.

MPs David Were (Matungu), Bernard Shinali (Ikolomani), Malulu Injendi (Malava) and Emmanuel Wangwe (Navakholo) said Jubilee is the force to watch in 2017.

Washiali said Jubilee had gained a lot of support from all regions in the country and grown more powerful.

"In 2013, North Eastern, Western, Coast and the Maasailand never supported Jubilee. Even me, I didn’t vote for Uhuru Kenyatta. But this time around, Jubilee is gaining a lot of support from these regions and growing stronger," he said.

Were said eight MPs from Kakamega county were supporting the ruling coalition and traversing the region to create a support base for the president’s party.

"We don’t want to mislead our people. As we think of politics, let us think of the betterment of our people. They can only feel good and realise development if they are in government," he said.

The legislators revealed that Western region was warming up to the President’s party but challenged the majority to come out and show their full support to the party.

Washiali said the formation of one united national movement (Jubilee Party) which gathers all Kenyans under one political roof is meant to mobilize solidarity and ideas in a unified direction towards national unity.

"This will oversee peaceful co-existence between various tribes in Kenya unlike today where each tribal community is striving to have its own political outfit," Washiali said.

"The seismic wave in the region is indicating that people of Western are tired of doing the same things over and again. They are out to bring change this time round,"

he said.

Wangwe reached to the Coalition for Restoration of Democracy (CORD) leadership to consider putting together all its affiliate political parties to form one strong political outfit.

"The politics of this country will become more delicious when we have few political parties," he said.

"Let Cord merge its affiliate parties, Amani of Mudavadi do the same so that we have three or four political parties to create a competitive political arena in Kenya. The current situation is bloated with so many parties that Kenyans fail to make a choice," Wangwe said.

He pointed out that those holding on to regional parties are promoting tribalism in the country.
