were on Friday night arrested in connection to the Rio 2016 Olympics scandal which saw several athletes miss tickets, accreditation documents and others stranded in Brazil days after the closing ceremony of the competitions.

First to be arrested was the secretary general who was detained at Nairobi’s Muthaiga Police Station, he was later joined by his

colleagues Stephen Soi and James Chacha who were taken into custody upon their arrival from Brazil at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

This comes shortly after Sports CS Hassan Wario disbanded NOCK.

The Olympics organising committee was disbanded and an independent body constituted to investigate allegations of mishandling team Kenya during the .

Wario said the committee members failed to execute their mandate in line with the Sports Act and grossly violated the privileges accorded to the committee.

“I do hereby disband the National Olympic Organising Committee of Kenya with immediate effect and transfer the responsibilities to sports Kenya as the interim custodian,” Wario said.

He said that sports Kenya will now oversee the adoption of the new NOCK constitution and set clear election calendar.

The CS added: "I constitute a probe committee to carry out an independent inquiry of the alleged mismanagement and present the report to me by September 30th,"

He said the measures are in addition to his request to the directorate of criminal investigations to carry out investigations on the said mismanagement allegations.
