Machakos MCAs on Tuesday took the oath of leadership and integrity as required in the Chapter Six of the constitution. The oath sworn at the county assembly chambers was presided over by Machakos principal magistrate Caroline Ocharo.
Assembly speaker Bernard Mung’ata led the MCAs in swearing the oath. The members also signed the leadership and integrity code. Speaking during the ceremony, when normal house sittings adjourned, Mung’ata said the oath is important for all state officers.
“We want to demonstrate that as an assembly we are committed to live by the provisions of the constitution,” he said.
