Police have installed CCTV cameras at Mombasa international show to improve security.

A special unit of officers from GSU and military have also been deployed to patrol the show grounds where more than 300,000 people are expected to attend.

Agricultural Society of Kenya CEO Batram Muthoka has said the show, which is expected to start next week, has attracted both local and international exhibitors.

"We have had a lot of meetings with our security agencies, we will have CCTV camera's showing all the gates and frisk everyone coming into the show ground," he said.

This year the show has attracted 167 exhibitors compared to last year’s 150.

"We can't give the details of all the security measures we plan to take but we assure all our visitors both local and foreign that we will have a very secure show," the CEO added.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to officially open the event.
