Kipipiri MP Samuel Gichigi has said he will sponsor a bill in Parliament to compel the government to provide sports equipment to all schools to help nurture talent.

“This will help Kenya improve its future sporting standards because talent would be identified and developed at an early age,” he said

The MP spoke at Kipipiri Stadium, Miharati town, on Monday during the selection of a team that will represent the constituency at the annual Ndakaini Half marathon in September.

Gichigi said Kipipiri CDF will buy sports equipment for schools in the constituency.

Teachers will be trained on talent scouting and youths selected will be put in training camps, he said.
