Gor Mahia head coach Ze Maria is out of the country less than a week before his side takes on Nzoia United in a GOtv Shield battle.

According to the team’s Secretary General Ronald Ngala, the tactician left to attend to some urgent family issues but is expected back before end of the week. “Yes he has left for Brazil.

“It is nothing serious at all, he had family issues which he has gone to solve but we are expecting him back tomorrow (Wednesday) to prepare the team for the weekend’s assignment. There is nothing alarming at all, he is still our head coach,” Ngala told Goal.

The Brazilian has been under pressure from the fans and management in the wake of recent league results. The Kenyan Premier League champions have won just two of their seven matches in the second leg with the last three ending in a goalless draw.

K’Ogalo are also seven points behind Tusker, who are leading the pack with 44 points.

Meanwhile Tusker FC head coach Paul Nkata is adamant his charges are not in any pressure whatsoever as a result of topping the table.
