Two people died while five were injured following an accident at the

Salgaa blackspot on Wednesday morning.

The 5am accident

involved a Kisumu classic sacco matatu heading to Kisumu and a van which was on its way to Nakuru.

Salgaa OCPD Joseph Wamburi told the Star that

the matatu was trying to overtake the van near Nakuru Teachers Training College resulting into a head-on collision.

"The two died instantly while the injured were rushed to the

Nakuru Level 5 Hospital for treatment," Wamburi said.

Many accidents have been reported in the area in the recent past despite drivers being cautioned to be careful when on that section of the road.
