The National Land Commission should issue title deeds to residents of Kibagare slums who have lived there for more than 30 years, Westlands MP Timothy Wanyonyi and Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko said yesterday.
They said it will be wrong to evict residents from the four acres, only part of which is being claimed by the Nairobi School.
Wanyonyi asked Deputy President William Ruto to keep off Nairobi School land.
Speaking to the Star on the phone, the MP said those calling for the eviction of Kibagare slum residents are out to evict the residents and grab the land.
Last week, Kibagare residents protested after Ruto visited the area and said the NYS will fence off the school land.
They barricaded Waiyaki Way and lit bonfires.
