An American national died after he was shot by two armed robbers

on Wednesday for resisting their attempt to snatch his back pack.

A witness said Cameron Huntley, a language teacher in the area, was shot once in the head and twice in the chest.

Huntley is said to have been walking towards Junction Mall while

carrying his laptop, in the company of his girlfriend. He was shot as the woman watched.

Nairobi police commander Japheth Koome

said the two

were confronted by the robbers who

were on a boda boda.

Koome said Huntley was taken to

Nairobi Women's Hospital in critical condition and died upon arrival.

He said investigations were launched.
