South African singer-songwriter Pilani Bubu made her debut performance in Kenya on Thursday.

The Miss Understood hit-maker was in Nairobi to headline the Roots International's weekly live music event Thursday Night Live at the Choices Bar & Restaurant.

She wowed the audience with a thrilling performance to some of her hit songs.

They included What's Between Us, Moonlight In Vermont, Walk On By, Qonqotwane, Meadowlands and Qula among others.

The event also saw James Gogo of the popular Kenyan band, Gogosimo, drop some few songs as well.

Pilani's live repertoire includes her recently launched Album Journey Of A Heart Part II: Warrior of Light, with band renditions from her first EP, poetic interludes and jazzy interpretations of folk music.

In her debut years, she has graced the stages of among others; Drum Beat Festival, Grahamstown National Arts Festival, Fete De La Musique and The Orbit Jazz Home of Jazz .

Over the years, Pilani's music has evolved into a unique fusion of jazz, blues, folk and funk.
