Lamu woman representative Shakilla Abdalla has criticised the recent move by the NLC to give land rights to Amu Power. The company aims to set up a coal power plant.
The project will cost Sh180 billion and
is expected to generate 980 MW of power. Last week, NLC chairman Muhammad Swazuri gave the company the go-ahead to implement the project.
