Police officers are 'demon possessed', Raila says

Raila Odinga on Sunday asked religious leaders to exorcise the evil spirit that has possessed police officers resulting in rampant shootings and killings.

The Cord leader said many lives have been lost courtesy of law enforcers who apparently are under instructions.

He cited the who was allegedly assassinated by hired hitmen on his way home.

Juma's killers are yet to be brought to justice.

Raila also cited another carried out by officers who were pursuing a prisoner.

The officers are yet to be charged for their act.

“It has reached a point where we need to go back to the Lord. We need to move a united country where all lives matter. All these are signs that our country requires prayers so that the evil spirit can be stopped,” he said at ACK Cathedral Church in Mombasa.

The Cord co-principal has made allegations that the Jubilee government has a hit-squad that is used to take the lives of the state’s critics.

Raila said Madaraka Day will be the country’s turning point where the opposition will preach truth, justice, and reconciliation.

He said the lives of Kenyans matter more than President Uhuru Kenyatta’s and his deputy William Ruto’s.

“We need to shun away from ethnic division. The face of Kenya is reflected in all tribes who have assembled here today,” said Raila.

Raila also maintained that though they have requested dialogue with the state over the IEBC stalemate, their focus remains to oust the embattled body.

“A lasting solution must be achieved. This country is in dire need of reforms and we are not interested with sharing power with the government of the day,” he said.

He urged youth to be at the forefront in liberating the country, which he said is on the brink of collapsing.
