Police in Mandera are investing an incident where unknown gunmen shot at an ambulance ferrying a pregnant woman to hospital on Saturday night.
The vehicle carrying the woman in labour was ambushed at Lafey town.
The ambulances' windscreen was shattered by bullets as it sped off.
The woman, who was not injured during the ordeal, later gave birth safely at Lafey Health Centre.
