Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua has said he does not fear impeachment.

The county boss has in the recent past been at loggerheads with Nyeri MCAs.

Gachagua has claimed MCAs are planning his impeachment in a Mombasa hotel. “I don’t fear impeachment. Nyeri MCAs have travelled to Mombasa to plot my removal. They should be aware that I am not a mayor and I was elected by more than 140,000 people,” he said. Gachagua spoke at Karatina Stadium while disbursing Sh90 million Elimu Fund cash on Thursday.

He said the move is being instigated after he denied MCAs authority to give out bursary cheques.
