An average of 23 secondary school principals die every year due to stress-related complications, the Kenya Secondary Schools Head Teachers Associations has said.

Kessha national chairman John Awiti said on Wednesday the number has increased in the last six years. He was speaking in Mombasa town.

“This year alone, we had lost 14 teachers by the end of May,” he said.

Awiti said their job is so demanding, it puts the principals under much pressure.
