We are looking for a talented, energetic, ambitious and self motivated individual keen on a career enhancing opportunity, to fill the position of Sports Reporter with strong video editing and scripting skills.
Reporting to the Channel Head (Sports News), the incumbent will be responsible for preparing scripts for all sports news and events, capturing, converting all content into on screen material for sports news. Key Responsibilities
• Gather content to run on the round the clock Sports News Service.
• Write/edit sport stories to appear on the sport updates.
• Ensure appropriate videos/images for all the sports updates. • Co-ordinate the content required for the daily sports shows and Sports News.
• Build and maintain a wide contact database for sports newsmakers.
• Provide research & Production support to all programming.
• Capture and convert all content for the channel.
• Vet content and ensure that it fits the qualitative standards and censorship guidelines.
• Edit shot content and package it for shows that are set to be aired.
• Handle duplicating, logging, media management and archive storage.
• Edit video and package stories Qualifications
• Professional training in journalism, Film and/or TV production.
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in a similar position in the Media Industry.
• Working experience with Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premier.
• Proven content scripting and video editing experience.
• Possession of additional technical skills is an advantage. The Person
• Should be a team player with excellent interpersonal, communication and coordination skills.
• High proficiency in Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premier is mandatory.
