Seven ODM MPs yesterday asked the Independent Policing Oversight Authority to immediately prosecute police who shot and killed anti-IEBC protesters in Nyanza.

They said IPOA has no “justifiable reasons” to take a lot of time in identifying responsible police officers because they can easily be identified from the video clips captured by the media. The MPs were Jakoyo Midiwo (Gem), Nicholas Gumbo (Rarieda), James Nyikal (Seme), David Ochieng (Ugenya), Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), George Omondi (Alego Usonga) and Oburu Oginga (nominated). They held a press conference at Parliament Buildings. The legislators displayed 31 bullet heads allegedly collected from various scenes of the Monday shootings.

They condemned the police officers, who they said were on a “hunting spree” to kill innocent protesters.
