A Kenya Redcross Landcruiser was on Thursday night hijacked by an unknown gang between Malindi and Kalole.

The driver was reportedly dumped in Kaloleni while the vehicle KBS 621 T is still missing.

Kenya Redcross officials have rushed the driver to Aghakhan hospital in Mombasa where he is undergoing medication.

The gang drugged the driver before they dumped him in the nearby bushes.

Kenya Redcross officer in charge of the Coast region Hassan Musa confirmed the incident.

Speaking on Phone Musa said they became suspicious after the driver failed to return to the station at 6.30 pm.

Normally all Kenya Redcross vehicles are supposed to be parked at their respective stations by 6.30pm.

“We began tracking it and found out that it was somewhere in the forest in Kilifi,’’ he said.

They suspected all was not well and informed the security agents.

It is not clear those behind the hijacking and the motive.
