Kadu Asili leader Gunga Mwinga is eyeing Mombasa political bigwigs who are not comfortable in ODM and Jubilee.

Fears of nominations fallout in ODM have sent shivers among sitting leaders, while Jubilee-friendly MPs have developed cold feet since the March 7 Malindi by-election. Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung'aro and Kwale woman representative Zainab Chidzuga have said they will announce their party of choice later.

Pwani University senior lecturer Hassan Mwakimako said Kadu Asili, a Cord affiliate, is the alternative to Cord and Jubilee as the polls approach.

He said cracks in the Coast Parliamentary Group triggered by Mwinga and Mung'aro will only serve to open up the democratic space.
