Rent-A-Diva, a comedic opera show about the twists and turns of musical lives has been on a tour this May.

It's been staged in different locations among them Gilgil Pembroke House, Muthaiga Country Club and Soams in Nanyuki.

The show, however, is set to culminate in what has been promised to be a thrilling final edition in May at Nairobi's Kempinski hotel this Friday from 7pm.

The hilarious and entertaining show is performed by German opera singer Doreen Ziegler and Kenyan mezzo-soprano Maggie Gitu.

The show, which is somewhere between a comedian opera and an operatic comedy, tells a story of a female performer who dreams of a glamorous lifestyle as the greatest opera singer in the world.

But there is an obstacle; a rival appears on stage determined to reach the same heights.

The story follows the budding divas through marvelous arias from operas, operettas and musicals in their quest to find the perfect agent to take them to the top.

Proceeds from the Rent-A-Diva tour support the charity, Opera for School Fees.
