Three teams in Enterprise Cup quarters

Kenya Cup champions Kabras Sugar, Top Fry Nakuru, Mwamba and Kenyatta University Blak Blad earned slots in quarter-finals after impressive shows in their respective first round matches of the Enterprise Cup.

Kabras sugar upset Kenya Harlequins 25-5 in a tight match at Kakamega Showground while Top Fry Nakuru beat Hosts Nondescripts 31-10 in a muddy affair at Jamhuri Park,

In their match against Quins, Kabras’ Apenisa Natabau scored thrice for the champion before Jone Kubu bagged a penalty and a conversion. Levi Ochieng scored the last try to end the game with a commanding win. Hosea Odhiambo scored Quins’ only unconverted try. Kabras will take on Homeboyz in the quarter-finals on Saturday.

In the other match, Mike Okombe touched down twice for Nakuru against Nondes as Geoffrey Ominde made two successful conversions. Ominde later scored a penalty and then converted Edwin Makori and Dalmus Chituyi’s tries. Nondies returned into the game through Fieldn Sinei’s penalty. Sinei later converted Moses Mukolwe’s try to end the match 31-10. Nakuru will face Strathmore in the other quarter on Saturday.

In another match of the day, Mwamba went past Western Bulls 31-15 at the at the Railways Club. Salaton Muturi opened the scores for Mwamba before Matt Wanjia’s conversion. Wanjia later scored a penalty and a try which was converted by Brian Kivisia. Venance Shikaba scored an unconverted try for Western Bulls before Teddy Akala was sent to the sin-bin. Muturi scored another try which was converted by Wanjia. Shikaba and Erastus Wanyama each scored for Bulls. Mwamba confront Resolution Impala Saracens in the quarter finals.

Blak Blad face Enterprise Cup defending champions KCB after thrashing Mean Machine 63-15 in a one sided affair.
